Huni,
So no vlog, but that's because I got back from a late concert where I pretty much babysat the school. Not in such a bad way but it was enough that I really didn't need to be there. But I was and during the time there, I had an interesting chat with a female student, Alyssa. Alyssa is Christian and somehow we got on the topic of God's grace saving people, not the work that they do. She quoted something from Ephesians and it made me realize that I really don't know anything about the Bible. (In which she said something about knowing the Bible is knowing God which led to why I believe in the Pope and what if the Pope is wrong yadda yadda. I definitely could've done a better job in defending my position but it all led back to not knowing the Bible well enough.)
In efforts to remedy this, I want to start reading the Bible again. (Yes, I haven't really read it since my strange nightmare after reading Revelations. :P) So, here's what I propose. I'll "assign" a section of reading; it probably will only be a chapter or so, but I'll say what chapter to read (it'll be in chronological order starting from whatever book) and we'll talk about it in the comments. Sometimes I'll make a video, but I'll probably want to type it out so I can organize my thoughts better. This way, you can post when you can, and I can post when I can.
How's that sound? I'm sure you'd be very pleased that I want to read the Bible so I want to start by exploring Ephesians. We'll start out slow by reading only the first chapter of Ephesians. How's that sound. Read it and put your thoughts in the comments and I'll do the same. Hopefully this will both get us to read the Bible more often and have more talks about it. :)
Hope you had a great day! I love you~
Always,
~Clover
PS: I'll try to do my two a week video schedule since I'm done with papers and all that jazz. :) It'll start this Thursday. So a video by Wednesday and Saturday! Wednesday's will be a response to the Chapter 1 of Ephesians and Saturday will either be a continuation or a video on a different subject or both! We'll see. <3
*laughs* Oh the wonderousness of it all! How ironic in a positive way, that it's Ephesians. Why you may ask? Well you'll have to wait and see. =3
ReplyDeleteBut yea, it would be great if we both can learn more about the faith. There are so many resources out there about why Catholics believe in what they do, we need only to avail ourselves to them.
One thing though, is that I caution you in talking with students about religion. Schools usually don't permit this, and I think you can only talk about it off campus, if at all. I definitely would ask your director or someone about that. Partly to not get into it too, until you're stronger in what you know, because students may develop feelings of superiority or of having authority in this area, even to a little degree, which could be detrimental in your teacher-student relationship. But it's great that you want to know more, Heaven knows I do! lol. Do ask your director or someone though, about that. =)
I love you!!
Well I'm not too worried about it now, its only a student-teacher/student relationship and they definitely see me as a "cool guy" instead of a teacher anyway. But don't worry, I won't let them get that superiority over me with religion becuase I will question them as much as they question me about it.
ReplyDeleteOh, so I read Ephesians chapter one and just going through half of that chapter brought out so much information. We should probably just stick with a chapter a session :P Anyway, it was after school when everyone was just hanging out and I wasn't in a teacher position when the conversation happened. So I think it'll be okay. :)
Still, it's something to keep in mind. =) Also, it's hard to have a persuasive debate/conversation when you don't already know the answers to the questions you ask. How will you be able to counter or correct? But if we work on it, we'll get closer ^^
ReplyDeleteSo will you be writing a new post with what you thought/discovered/wondered about Eph 1 or will you be writing a comment here?
